Don't Let your Business Fly South for the Winter

Winter is in full swing and we hope you are enjoying this fabulous time of year with the ones you love as much as we are. As we plan for the upcoming holidays, don't forget to stay at least moderately active in your home business. One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is taking a full 1 to 2 month break from their businesses in winter and summer. This is deadly for your home business. It's twice as hard to play catch up than to do just a little everyday. Although we're busy during the holidays we should keep in mind that people are beginning to think about the new year and starting a home business. Also many moms are home with the kids out of school and have some time to breath and start something new during the holidays. Now's the ideal time to make contact with both groups of prospects. Don't wait until after the holidays, you can certainly lose out by doing so. If you've already made contact with your new partners, some will begin during the holidays season and you can be ready to help the ones who want to start up for the new year right away in January. If you wait until January to start calling and contacting prospects, you will be playing catch up and miss out on the people that the early birds already talked to. Also if you own a home party business, book those parties because this is the most profitable time of year for you!



Of course, we're all busy during the holidays but we can certainly use the extra money and we don't want to let our businesses go south for the winter. Simply take advantage of the flexibility your home business offers and schedule your work around shopping and family activities. Pace yourself and do a little each day. Don't stop making new contacts just because it's November and December. This is one of the major mistakes business builders make. Make your home business the early bird that caught the worm, not the bird that flew south for winter. A little work in November and December can pay big dividends in the new year for you and your wallet! Don't look at the holiday season as a time to kick back and stop working, instead use your flexibility for benefits you can reap in January. Winter is not time to hibernate, but are you allowed to slow down...just a little.
