Awards for Web design and Development

After all the efforts you put into designing and developing a web site, it is nice to know that you can qualify and win an award for the effort. If you have not yet been awarded for your efforts and design, its time you competed for one. To receive an award, you need to apply for one. Apply to participate, as in most beauty contests or the Miss World contest, you have to apply.

Various award sites are available on the internet, most are authentic and legitimate, however a few do look like link exchanges. The award sites are categorized, some of them are for non-commercial sites and some only for corporate sites.

Go through the criteria of the award sites through a fine tooth comb. Some award sites do not accept frame sites and some reject java applets. Applying to a award site without fulfilling the criteria will not get you anywhere.

If you have a good site, you will get an award, but if you are looking forward to getting more hits through winning the award, you need to have an amazing site,. Only then, when your site is showcased by the award site, you can get those expected hits. The purpose of the award should always be towards getting more hits and not towards showcasing your web design and development skills to your friends and family.

If you don't win, don't get bogged down. Web design is always profitable, so look towards improving your site as a challenge.

You could use the following tips while working towards your award:

* Never spam the award sites with too many requests. * Strictly no adult content. * Be sure that the web site is complete. * Make sure your web site loads fast. * Make sure the graphics are not broken and no 404 errors. * Make sure you have good content.
